A startup is a company that enters a young or non-existent market with a product that has the potential for enormous growth but also high risk. Usually startups aren’t allowed to get traditional capital investments such as bank loans and instead rely on venture capital or crowdfunding. They usually run at a loss in the beginning until they have proven themselves and can begin to make money. If they run out of capital before then or can’t find new investors the startup fails. Starting a startup is often very challenging and requires long hours, but can be very rewarding as well.
